Providing hope and help for substance abusers

Community Service

The board and staff of Lydia’s Place, Inc. would like to sincerely thank you, your staff and the residents of Alpha House for your assistance…We were very, very grateful…The folks from Alpha House could not have been more hardworking, kind or helpful to us.  You have our utmost gratitude. – Vicki Sirockman, Executive Director, Lydia’s Place, Inc.

Alpha House operates in the true spirit of the broader community.  As a responsible and respected member of the local health care community, we share our experience with drug-free treatment methods with other professionals in the field.  Our staff also attends workshops given by other professionals to learn about what their agencies and institutions are doing that might help our residents.

As a responsible member of the local community at large, our staff and residents speak to area middle and high school students about the dangers and consequences of substance abuse.  Our residents assist local churches and agencies by providing manual labor to help them with their special events and moves.

Furthermore, Alpha House tries to be a good neighbor by keeping our grounds clean, neat and well-manicured.

Finally, we work with the broader community to provide information, referral and advocacy services to our residents.  Our experienced staff has developed relationships with local welfare, medical and legal staff and professionals.  They help our residents navigate these often confusing and expensive systems.  In addition, in conjunction with the resident’s legal representation, our staff will assist with pre-release and court stipulations to ensure that these are resolved so that the resident can get the vital therapy he or she needs.
