Program
Addicts and alcoholics
are made not born. Our
residents often have grown up in troubled families. They may have gotten little or no support, or experienced
emotional, physical or sexual abuse, or violence.
Alpha
House assesses the family situation and uses the evaluation to work with
the resident. If family
involvement will help the resident’s recovery, and the resident and
family agree, then Alpha House’s Family Program serves as the link
between the staff, family and resident.
This link might be as simple as informing the family of the
resident’s progress. But
if the family requests, and is committed, then a family counselor will
provide therapeutic intervention to the family.
